Brooke Rutledge

John Coviello

Chief Sorceress (Supervisor, Organized Play Director, Training Director)

Our Chief Sorceress, Brooke, was introduced to hobby gaming through the convention circuit in her teenage years. Initially, she began volunteering to hang out with her friends during her summer breaks. Since then, she has worked for a number of shows, in variety of capacities. As it turns out, she was actually running events on local, national, and even international levels well before ever playing her first 'hobby' game.

As a child, Brooke frequently played classic board and traditional card games with her family and friends, developing an affinity for trivia and word games. While attending wizarding college, the aspiring sorceress was fortunate enough to have lived in a castle; so, naturally, she decided to take up role-playing (and, of course, gamed in the cellar). After being recruited by the Little Shop of Magic, she became increasingly involved in gaming.

Today, thanks to her experience in the convention circuit, she has a hand in most of the shop's organized play programs. She also acts as our second-in-command, keeping our operations (relatively) organized, making sure chaos stays bound, and training our newest apprentices. While her preference for hoodies over more traditional wizard's robes is regarded as odd, her attire is often overlooked thanks to her affinity for scrolls and spreadsheets: the rest of us would rather face a Norwegian Ridgeback empty-handed than having anything to do with scrollwork.

Tragically, her final responsibility, keeping up with the chief sorcerer's absent-mindedness and bumbling experiments, ties up so much of her remaining time, that she ends up watching games more than actually getting to play them.

When given the chance, Brooke still mostly plays board games. She particularly enjoys party style games, as she prefers her games silly and rowdy. Her game habits now also include a few miniature games and lastly a couple collectible card games. Brooke is indeed lucky with dice, but routinely fails her saving-throws vs. cookies.
